Dr. Yanek Mukiy is a dentist with more than 15 years of clinical experience, specializing in comprehensive dental care, from complex endodontics through to high level aesthetic smile restoration.

Two cases treated at the clinic, with the before and after imaging.
The CT scan showed extensive bone loss. The tooth was floating inside an inflammatory focus, with clear mobility. Several clinics gave the same recommendation: extract and implant.
The root canals were sealed with a bioceramic material and a cast post was fitted. The inflammation subsided and the mobility disappeared. A crown comes next. No implant was needed.
Pain and a drainage tract in the gum, the same little bubble that keeps appearing and disappearing. The imaging showed bone loss at the root tip, what people usually call a cyst. Another dentist who saw the image recommended extraction.
The canal was cleaned and sealed thoroughly under the microscope. The drainage tract closed, the pain went away and the bone is healing. Root canal treatment only, no surgery and no implant.
Once the infection is removed from the canal, a lesion at the root tip heals on its own in most cases. If it does not shrink, surgery is added. In this case that was not necessary.
Results vary between patients and depend on the clinical situation. The decision about how to treat is made after examination and diagnosis.
